COLUMBUS– The country’s
premier high school basketball event is coming into Ohio, and while no local player will be
suiting up in the McDonald’s All-American game, two local coaches will be patrolling
the sidelines.
Moeller head coach Carl Kremer is the co-head coach for the
boys’ West squad, while Indian Hill head coach Scott Rogers will be co-coaching
the girls’ East squad. The girls’ game will tip-off 5:30 p.m. today at the
Value City Arena, while the boys contest is slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
Aside from Rogers, the girls
contest will feature Kentucky
signee Jennifer O’Neil. The 5-6 guard is from St.MichaelAcademy in the
Bronx and will be an added addition to the Wildcat team that fell to Oklahoma in the Elite
Eight. Dayton Chaminade-Julienne star Samarie Walker, who signed to play at the
University of Connecticut is also playing the game.
OhioState signee Jared
Sullinger headlines an East team that Kremer will have to “stop”. The 6-9
Sullinger from Columbus Northland will round out his prep career in his
hometown. Two undecided players, C.J. Leslie and Josh Selby, have Kentucky amongst their
final choices.
The West team has five players – Terrance Jones, Cory
Joseph, Brandon Knight, Doron Lamb and Ray McCallum – still undecided on their
college choice.
