Newport Central Catholic first-year head coach Eddie Eviston was doused with Gatorade after his team scored 22 unanswered points fourth-quarter points to beat Dixie Heights 35-28 Friday in the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown at Nippert Stadium.

A wild pitch in the sixth inning helped Holy Cross to its first lead as the Indians overcame a five-run deficit to post the 12-10 victory over Dixie Heights on Tuesday, in the first round of the Ninth Region softball tournament at Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field on the campus of Northern Kentucky University.
